NSW 2010 State Championships this weekend 6-7 Feb

The 2010 NSW Rowing Championships will feature 22 hours of racing over two days. Sydney University will have around fifty athletes competing in around 100 plus events.
The highlights of the Championships will be the Youth Day on Saturday and the Elite Eights Championships on Sunday. Sponsored by the Faculty of Business and Economics Youth Day sees the Youth (U21 ) Championships for men and women on eights, pairs and singles and the chmpionship school events.
Apart from Sydney based athletes siz Sydney Uni athletes based at the AIS will attend the regatta to compete for Sydney Uni along with Matt Ryan and Fergus Pregnall - both of whom live now in Melbourne and will fly in to compete for the weekend.
SUBC will field its top male athletes in the Men's Elite Eight on Sunday as they attempt to win their fifth successive QL deloitte Trophy - this would be a new record for SUBC. The crew will be steered by Aussie eight cox Toby Lister and will include winning 2009 Kings Cup stroke Terrence Alfred and Beihing silver medallist Matt Ryan, 2009 World Quad silver medallist Nick Hudson along with national reps Sam Loch, Fergus Pragnell, Nick Purnell, Richard Allsop.
The Sydney Uni tema will be coached by Mark Prater, James Macartney, Alan Bennett and Will Townsend and supported on the weekend by the parent group led by Julie Playfair and John Cartmill.
