SUBC is the one of the oldest sporting Clubs at Sydney University, one of the five founding clubs of Sydney Uni Sport and one of the oldest rowing clubs in Australia, having been established in 1860.
SUBC also has a strong as well as a long history, with it being the beginning of many great rowing careers at university, State, national and international levels.
SUBC normally row from their boatshed located at Linley Point, on the Lane Cove river. Unfortunately the shed was destroyed by fire in what appeared to be an arson attack at around 4.30 am on 29th March 2006. While a new shed is being constructed Sydney University have been blessed by the generosity of our neighbours, St Ignatius College who have assisted our teams to keep rowing.

Sydney University Rowing has an elite squad training at Lane Cove and a development squad training at Glebe along with a small group of women masters. Coaches Phil Bourguignon, Alan Bennett and Mark Prater run these programs asssisted by Mike Doyle, Toby Lister and David Bellamy.
