Peter Philipp Christening

Posted on: 16/11/04

SUBC website has finally found the photos of the boat christening of early 2004.
Our new racing pair was named after Peter Philipp who competed for the club in the late 90's as a lightweight in recognition of Pete's leadership in re-building the staging of the Linley Point pontoon in 2003-4.
This major work was carried out at a huge saving for SUBC and SU Sport due to the dedication of Peter and with support from a number of young alumni especially Mike Wiseman. Other notable helpers included Gian Minns, Stu Anderson, Teddy McCosker, Dom Bressan, Tom McCann, Ben Clarsen, John Boultbee, Dan Burke, Al Gordon and many others including current rowers.
The new pair will be our No 1 heavyweight pair boat. The photo shows Pete with his Mum at the christening.
